Too and Enough

The word too has a negative meaning: by using it we show the excess or shortage of something.

too + adjective

Examples:

  • I'm too old for such things!
  • You are too late — the meeting has already started.

The word enough has a positive meaning: it implies sufficiency.

Form: adjective + enough

Examples:

  • I'm not good enough to solve this problem.
  • He is not rich enough to buy this car.
